May Challenge - Tour vs Home

Writer's picture: Luke PhillipsLuke Phillips

It’s tour time and a large contingent of us will be off to sunny (and hilly) Mallorca for great days of cycling and a beer or 10. May’s challenge is about seeing if being on tour helps or hinders the number of meters climbed in a month.

How many vertical meters can you cover in total from 1st to 31th of May 2024?

Here are the available points for climbing the equivalent of:

Ride London Essex 100 elevation gain @ 1132m 1pt

The 2024 Strade Bianche elevation gain @ 3674m 2pts

The Strava route elevation gain of all 3 tour rides @ 5039m 3pts

The 3 Ardennes Classics @ 8103m 4pts

There is a bonus point for the 1 man and 1 woman with the most total meters climbed in the month.

A maximum of 5 points can be obtained.

Please join Strava’s May Cycling Elevation Challenge to make tracking easier.

Only rides outdoors count.

Also don’t forget to claim your bonus points for things like 1st Sportive or 100k Solo Ride. Bonus points claimed are on an honesty basis and input into the google spreadsheet via the website. Navigate to the Waldy Challenge page and in the middle right of the page, press add bonuses; you will then be taken to the google sheet.

Get in touch with your challenge master Luke Phillips if you need help entering your scores or want to query any levels.
